Ogier showed why he is the best driver currently and dominated the event after day 1. The win was well deserved thanks to his speed and consistency.
Bryan Bouffier in his private Ford managed to keep it together and beat most of the bigger names in rally - a good sign for his new employer Hyundai.

Kris Meeke payed back the trust Citroen gave him by racing to his first podium and the first podium for a British driver in 11 years. A really strong performance by him with great judgment and no errors. If he builds up from here there are great things from him to come.

The weather was crazy again, in fact it snowed so heavily that Stage 14 - the second run at the infamous Col de Turini - had to be canceled due to 20cm of new snow. Panizzi was one of the pre-runners that reports the teams about the current conditions, and he got stuck with his car. Latvala said that he was having problems driving up the mountain with AWD and that the smaller 2WD cars could have had real problems just finishing.

Also a Porsche took part in Monte Carlo for the first time since 1986, and it showed decent speed.

In the end, Kubica, Sordo, Neuville and Hirvonen had to retire. It just shows how difficult it was and that every driver finishing can be proud of himself. Let's just hope the season continues like this.
